NWT Labour Force Survey – September 2011

For September 2011, Statistics Canada estimates that 23,800 out of 32,200 residents 15 years of age and older were employed in the Northwest Territories, representing an employment rate  of 73.9%. Overall, Canada’s employment rate stood at 62.6% in September. Since August 2011, employment in the NWT rose by 300 persons.

Consumer Price Index – Aug 2011

Information released today by Statistics Canada indicates that the Yellowknife All-Items Consumer Price Index rose 3.4% from August 2010. By comparison, the annual price increase was 3.1% for Canada, 3.0% for Edmonton, and 3.0% for Whitehorse.
